The Music Inclusion Ensemble, featuring Gaelynn Lea

Very happy to share for folks local to the New River Valley region of Virginia that Gaelynn Lea will be in concert with the Music Inclusion Ensemble on Thursday, October 20, 7:30pm-9pm EST.

The event is live at The Center for the Arts on the Blacksburg campus of Virginia Tech.

You can find out more and buy tickets ($5) on the Center for the Arts page.

All tickets are general admission, so people who need accessible or wheelchair seating will just go to that area (no special ticket needed).

Live CART captioning will be displayed — with some dynamo lyrics about disability rights in at least one of those songs. There will also be live, in-person ASL interpretation.

Hope to see you there!

Anita Cameron!

From June 1-20 we are hosting disability justice legend Anita Cameron as she works on her memoir as our writer-in-virtual-residence. It’s such an honor to get to see her devote this time to working on her memoir. She will be delighting us by reading a selection from her memoir and taking questions as part of our official launch of the DisCoTec Center on June 27that 7pm EST. June 27 is also Anita Cameron’s birthday, so celebrations abound!

If you’d like to join us for Anita Cameron’s Reading and DisCoTec Launch, here is the registration link. June 27, 7:00pm-8:15pm EST. We will have CART captioning and ASL interpretation provided.
